Voices For Veterans

Our monthly "Voices For Veterans" segment aired today on WJON. I talked with Public Affairs Officer Barry Venable and Green Environmental Services Coordinator Mary Wenck. The two announced that the St. Cloud V.A. has received recognition as a top 25 "green" medical facility in the U.S.

This month on our Voices For Veterans Program on WJON I talked with Voluntary Services Specialist Angie Paulson and Public Affairs Officer Barry Venable from the St. Cloud V.A. about the St. Cloud V.A. Youth Volunteer Program.

Today on WJON I talked with Mandi Loxterkamp, Elaine Ekstrom and Barry Venable from the St. Cloud VA on our Voices For Veterans segment. Loxterkamp is a nurse and Ekstrom is the Clinic Coordinator at the VA.

Today on WJON I talked with Trish Aljets, Kaila Kramer and Sarah Meisinger from the St. Cloud V.A. on our Voices For Veterans monthly segment. Kaila talked about nutrition, Sarah discussed the Health Focus and Trish talked about volunteer opportunities.

During our Voices For Veterans Segment today on WJON I talked with Julie Roman Vera, Women Veteran Program Manager, and Barry Venable, Public Affairs Officer, from the St. Cloud V.A. The topic this month is Heart Health. February is Heart Health awareness month.

During our "Voices For Veterans" segment on WJON today I talked with St. Cloud V.A. Public Affairs Officer Barry Venable and the CEO of Sand Industries Jamie Thielen. The two talked about the new Apartment building that will be available for veterans that are currently fighting with homelessness issues.

St. Cloud V.A. Public Affairs Officer Barry Venable stopped by the WJON studio for our Voices For Veterans broadcast. He talked about the OIG Hotline Report. He explained what happened, why it happened and where the St. Cloud VA stands on complaints and concerns.

Today on our Voices For Veterans segment I talked with Barry Venable (Public Affairs Officer) and Mary Jo Pine (Suicide Prevention Coordinator) about Suicide Prevention. September is suicide prevention month.

I talked with Trish Aljets and Ellen Dinsmore of the St. Cloud VA about their upcoming Mental Health Summit. Aljets is the chief of voluntary services while Dinsmore is the special programs coordinator for the Mental Health Service.
