According to the Minneapolis Star Tribune the Vikings have informed cornerback Xavier Rhodes and defensive lineman Sharrif Floyd that the team will be picking up their 5th year option on their rookie contracts
The Vikings selected receiver Laquon Treadwell from Ole Miss in the first round (23rd overall) last night in the NFL draft. Treadwell was the 4th receiver chosen. He had 82 catches for 1,153 yards and 11 touchdowns in his final season at Ole Miss.
The Vikings in advance of free agency have agreed to terms with 28-year old left guard Alex Boone. Boone played all 6 of his seasons with the San Francisco 49ers. He started 13 games last season with the 49ers before he sustained a knee injury.

Minnesota Vikings defensive end Everson Griffen has been selected as the NFC Defensive Player of the Week. The NFL announced the awards Wednesday. Griffen had two key sacks Sunday in the win at Green Bay that gave the NFC North title to the Vikings.
