Local teachers sometimes spend hundreds of their own dollars for school supplies in the classroom. In an effort to help, the District 742 Local Education and Activities Foundation (LEAF) is kicking off its "Adopt a Classroom Project" for this year.

St. Cloud area voters will likely go to the polls again this fall to decide on whether to build a new Tech High School and upgrade Apollo High School. District 742 Superintendent Willie Jett will be proposing a November referendum for a new Tech High School and updated Apollo to the school board.
A report released this week by the Bureau of Justice Statistics says 6.5 percent of teachers in Minnesota public schools have reported being physically attacked by a student. The report adds that 11.4 percent of Minnesota public school teachers have reported being threatened by a student.
The St. Cloud area school board approved a Tech and Apollo boys hockey co-op on Thursday night. The combination of the teams will be in place for at least two years. Apollo and Tech boys hockey will be combined into one class AA team.
