The St. Cloud Rox announced the signing of 6 players to play in St. Cloud this summer. The 6 are left handed pitcher Zach Hirsch from the University of Nebraska, Academy of Holy Angels graduate pitcher Lucas Long from the University of Arizona, righthander Andrew Urban from Creighton, infielder Mark Rhine from Wake Forest, 3rd baseman Nick Tanielu from Washington State and first baseman Ty Jackson from Washington State.

The St. Cloud Rox will reveal their new jerseys home and away on Monday at the public event at Buffalo Wild Wings in St. Cloud at 5:30. The event is free and open the public. The Rox will also make home and away jersey available for purchase. The Rox will sell season tickets at the event as well.

The St. Cloud Rox are putting single game tickets on sale Saturday May 12 at 9am at the St. Cloud Rox ticket office on the west end of the MAC, on their website at StCloudRox.com, or by calling 240-9798. Fans will be able to select the exact seat they want online and print their tickets out at home. The St. Cloud Rox begin the 2012 season at Duluth on May 30 and will play their home opener June 2.

The St. Cloud Rox signed 8 more players to play for the team this summer. Among the 8 is outfielder Andy Henkemeyer from Sauk Rapids. Henkemeyer is playing his college baseball for the Gophers. He was the Most Valuable River Bat last season in St. Cloud. He is joined by outfielder Boo Vasquez from the University of Pittsburg, catcher Adam Martin from Western Carolina, outfielder Jamie Simpson from Eastern Michigan and pitchers Paul Schaak of Eastern Michigan, Alex Roberts of Newberry College, Sergio Luna of Cal-State L.A. and Adam Maxon of Jacksonville University.

The St. Cloud Rox added 11 players to the 2012 roster Wednesday. The players are St. Cloud State's Phil Imholte and Garrett Anderson, Nebraska lefthanded pitcher Zach Hirsch, Minnesota infielder Tony Skjefte, Minnesota righthanded pitcher Ben Meyer, Creighton righthander Andy Urban, Wayne State pitcher Tadd Johnson, California righthander Keaton Siomkin, California infielder Chris Paul, and Ohio catcher J.R. Reynolds. Hirsch, Urban, Johnson and Reynolds played for the St. Cloud River Bats in 2011.

The St. Cloud Rox have announced that Zack Fisch will be the play-by-play announcer for their inaugural season in 2012. Fisch has announced St. Cloud State Hockey games on SCSU campus radio station KVSC and served as radio play-by-play man for the Rochester Honkers in 2011.

The newly named St. Cloud Rox in the Northwoods League baseball league has come to a 1-year contract agreement with AM 1390-the Fan (KXSS) to broadcast their 70 game schedule. AM 1390-the Fan is owned and operated by Townsquare Media of St. Cloud. Townsquare Media consists of WJON, 98 Country, 103.7 the Loon, Mix 94.9 and Rev 96.7. The St. Cloud River Bats were partnered with AM 1390-the Fan for the broadcasts from 2001-2011.

The St. Cloud Northwoods League team is now the St. Cloud Rox. The annoncement took place at Legends Bar and Grill inside the St. Cloud Holiday Inn Tuesday night. Team President and part owner Gary Posch says the name "Rox" was submitted more than 300 times by fans and it's a name he's wanted for St. Cloud for the past 10 years. The St. Cloud Rox were a minor league baseball team in the Northern League in New York Giants, San Francisco Giants and Chicago Cubs systems from 1946 to 1971.
