Greg Zanon and Cal Clutterbuck each scored a goal. Clutterbuck's goal gave the Wild a 2-0 lead in the 2nd period. Josh Harding had 38 saves for the Wild.

The Minnesota Wild won 2-1 in an overtime shootout Thursday night. Devin Setoguchi scored the game-winning goal in the shootout and Matt Cullen scored the lone Minnesota goal in regulation. Niklas Backstrom had 21 saves for the Wild. Minnesota outshot Edmonton 35-22.

The Minnesota Wild traded left wing Eric Nystrom to the Dallas Stars for future considerations Wednesday. Those future considerations could turn into a draft pick. Nystrom had 4 goals and 8 assists last season.

The Minnesota Wild lost 4-3 in an overtime shootout at Ottawa Tuesday night. Minnesota led 3-1 in the 3rd period before giving the lead back. Ottawa outscored the Wild 3-1 in the shootout. Kyle Brodziak, Devin Setoguchi, and Nick Johnson each scored a goal for the Wild and Niklas Backstrom had 41 saves for the Wild.

The Minnesota Wild lost 4-2 at Columbus Thursday night in their 2nd to last preseason game. Guillaume Latendresse and Mikko Koivu each scored a goal for the Wild and Josh Harding had 22 saves for Minnesota. The Wild outshot Columbus 34-26.

The Minnesota Wild lost 4-3 to St. Louis in a preseason game Tuesday night. Minnesota led 3-2 after 2 periods but couldn't hold onto the lead. Dany Heatley had 2 assists and Marek Zidlicky, Mikko Koivu and Brett Bullmer each scored a goal for Minnesota. Niklas Backstrom had 22 saves for the Wild.

The Minnesota Wild won 1-0 in a preseason game at St. Louis Thursday night. Warren Peters scored the only goal of the game in the 2nd period. Niklas Backstrom had 18 saves to get the shutout in net. Minnesota is 2-0-0 this preseason and will host Columbus at 7pm tonight.

The Minnesota Wild won 4-3 at Edmonton in their preseason opener Tuesday night. Minnesota went out to 3-0 lead only to allow Edmonton to come back to tie the game before Jared Spurgeon scored the game-winning goal in the 3rd period for the Wild.

The Minnesota Wild traded center James Sheppard to the San Jose Sharks for a 3rd round draft pick in 2013. This marks the 3rd time these two teams have made a trade in the offseason. Sheppard missed out of last season with a knee injury.
