Devin Hester set the tone with a 48-yard touchdown catch and scored on a career-best 98-yard kickoff return before leaving with a chest injury, and the Chicago Bears routed the Minnesota Vikings 39-10 on Sunday.

Viking receiver Percy Harvin missed practice Thursday because of sore ribs. Harvin missed time in training camp because of this injury and aggravated the injury Sunday against Arizona. Minnesota head coach Leslie Frazier expects Harvin to play Sunday night at Chicago at 7:20, pregame on WJON at 6:00.

Viking quarterback Donavan McNabb talked Wednesday about how he's looking at his mechanics as much as the next guy and doesn't understand why the media is focusing so much on his mechanics. McNabb says the offense isn't as bad as what it's made out to be.

Viking running back Adrian Peterson won the NFC Offensive Player of the Week award for this past week. He ran for 122 yards and 3 touchdowns for the Vikings in the win over Arizona Sunday. Peterson has run for 498 yards and 6 touchdowns this season in 5 games for the Vikings. he is averaging 4.5 yards per carry.

Viking head coach Leslie Frazier said at his Monday press conference that Bernard Berrian will be active this Sunday night after being deactivated Sunday against Arizona for disciplinary reasons. Berrian reportedly missed team meetings last week.

Adrian Peterson powered in for three first-quarter touchdowns to build a lead large enough even Minnesota couldn't lose it, and the Vikings finally earned their first victory Sunday by beating the bumbling Arizona Cardinals 34-10.

The Vikings had 3 players miss practice Wednesday with injuries. Cornerback Antoine Winfield (neck), center John Sullivan (ankle) and punter Chris Kluwe (hamstring) all missed practice Wednesday. The following players were limited in practice Wednesday; safety Husain Abdullah (pelvis), linebacker E.J. Henderson (knee), tackle Charlie Johnson (elbow), and safety Jamarca Sanford (knee).

The clock is ticking, time is running out, forth down -- pick your sports cliche' -- the big question is, "who's going to blink first on the Vikings stadium issue?"

The Vikings signed fullback Ryan D'Imperio from the practice squad Tuesday and waived tight end Allen Reisner. D'Imperio is in his 2nd year with the Vikings out of Rutgers. Reisner played his college football at Iowa.

The Vikings lost 22-17 at Kansas City Sunday to drop to 0-4 on the season. Minnesota trailed 9-7 at halftime but led 10-9 early in the 2nd half. Matt Cassel threw for 260 yards and 1 touchdown and Dwayne Bowe had 5 catches for 107 yards and a touchdown.
