The Vikings have reinstated cornerback Chris Cook to the active roster but he won't play or be at the Viking facility. He was suspended indefinetly while he faces a felony charge of domestic assault. He allegedly strangled his girlfriend after becoming angry that she had talked with a former boyfriend.

Viking defensive end Jared Allen has been named the NFC Defensive Player of the Month for October. Allen in October had 8 sacks, 2 forced fumbles, 2 fumble recoveries, and 24 tackles. Allen is the first Viking to receive this award since Darren Sharper won it in 2005. Allen leads the NFL in sacks with 12 1/2 and is on pace to break the single-season sack record held by Michael Strahan.

Vikings Stadium Efforts Take A Hit
Governor Mark Dayton announced Tuesday after meeting with legislative leaders that they would not support local or state tax increases to pay for a Vikings Stadium. The Vikings had an agreement with Ramsey County to build the Stadium in suburban Arden Hills, Minnesota. The deal called for a $350 Million contribution from Ramsey County with a 1/2 cent sales tax increase to pay for it.

The Vikings earned their 2nd win of the season and their first road win 24-21 at Carolina Sunday afternoon. Minnesota got a 31-yard field goal from Ryan Longwell with 2:43 left to break a 21-all tie with Carolina. The Panthers had a chance to tie the game with :26 left when Olindo Mare missed a 31-yard field goal wide left.

The Vikings welcomed both running back Adrian Peterson and receiver Percy Harvin back to practice in a limited capacity Thursday. Peterson (ankle) missed practice Wednesday but was limited yesterday. Harvin (ribs) missed practice Wednesday but was limited yesterday. Peterson almost certainly will play at Carolina Sunday while Harvin is a little more questionable.

The Vikings will likely play without right guard Anthony Herrera Sunday at Carolina. Herrera suffered damage to his surgically repaired left knee against Green Bay. Joe Berger will likely start in Herrera's place. Center John Sullivan and safety Jamarca Sanford were both cleared to practice this week and both did practice as full participates Wednesday. Both should play Sunday.

Vikings' cornerback Chris Cook appeared in court on felony charges he allegedly tried to choke his girlfriend over the weekend. Cook didn't enter a plea in Hennepin County Court yesterday. Cook didn't play Sunday's game against Green Bay and has been suspended indefinetly without pay by the Vikings.

The Vikings have suspended cornerback Chris Cook indefinetly after he was charged Tuesday with a felony for allegedly strangling his girlfriend of 10 years for speaking with a former boyfriend. The Vikings called the allegations "very disturbing and disappointing".

Viking defensive end Brian Robison apologized on twitter to Packer offensive lineman T.J. Lang for kicking him in the groin during Sunday's game. Robison was flagged for a personal foul at the time. He said Lang started it when he threw him to the ground and lunged at him. Robison says he acted in self defense.
