Metro Bus is again offering kids 17 and under a free Metro Bus pass this summer. Parents can pick up the passes at the temporary Transit Center at the corner of 1st Street South and 6th Avenue South in downtown St. Cloud.

St. Cloud Metro Bus is moving its Transit Center into a temporary location nearby while expansion work is completed at the permanent building.

Metro Bus will be running a reduced schedule for the Thanksgiving and Christmas holidays. Both Metro Bus fixed route and Dial-A-Ride will be closed tomorrow for Thanksgiving, on Christmas Day and New Year's Day.

More people rode the Metro Bus this year than in 2010, but only slightly more. The fiscal year ended in September and the year-end report shows 872 more people rode the fixed route service than the year before. But, St. Cloud Metropolitan Transit Commission spokesman Tom Cruikshank says the numbers may have been bigger had it not been a tough construction year.

Tony Kellen, the Director of Operations for Metro Bus, has been named the Minnesota Transit Professional of the Year.

The St. Cloud Metropolitan Transit Commission wants to alert you to the fact there will be no Metro Bus Service on Monday, July 4th. However, Northstar Link and Northstar Commuter Rail will be serving the Twins 1:10 p.m. Twins baseball game Monday.

Some of the best bus drivers in the St. Cloud area will be putting their skills to the test today (Thursday). Metro Bus is hosting their Bus Roadeo from 1:00 until 4:00 p.m. in the K lot at St. Cloud State University.

Metro Bus is offering their free summer youth passes again this year. The U-Go Free Summer Youth Pass is good seven days a week on any Fixed Route bus from June 1st to August 31st.

A big ridership jump on the Northstar Link commuter bus this March. St. Cloud Metropolitan Transit Commission spokesman Tom Cruikshank says it set a monthly record with 3,360 passengers.

Metro Bus is making some changes to its Dial-A-Ride service. A series of public meetings were held to gather input on changing the boundaries to contain the growth while meeting the service demands. These changes go into effect Friday and adjust the boundaries of the extended service area.
