A plan is in the works to build a bandshell at Lake George. St. Cloud Mayor Dave Kleis and members of the St. Cloud Rotary Club announced the plan this (Wednesday) evening, during the Sumertime By George event.
Since Thursday the St. Cloud area has been a buzz with all of the event for Granite City Days. The parade, Lemonade Art Fair, 5K are just a few things that happened throughout the weekend finishing with today's events which started with the Airport Breakfast.
Granite City Days continues to be a massive event with non stop fun for the whole family. Saturday had a big day full of events starting with the WJON 5K and ending with the Historic Pub Crawl.
People began to pile in at Lake George in St. Cloud for the third annual Summertime by George event. Today was the first day of the event that will happen every Wednesday for the next eleven weeks.
Lake George will be bustling with winter revellers this weekend. The second annual Granite City Winter Festival will bring pond hockey teams, ice skate racers and dodgeball players to town.
St. Cloud's Lake George has made a list of impaired waters. The Minnesota Pollution Control Agency has added 511 streams, lakes and other bodies to its updated impaired waters list. The state agency now lists 3,643 waters as impaired, which means they fail to meet standards for activities such as swimming, boating and fishing.
Mayor Dave Kleis, Tri-Athlete Bill Corcoran, Outdoor Endeavors' Ivan Bartha, and Chris Zubinski from St. Cloud Parks & Recreation were all at Lake George this morning to welcome Minnesota's sweet season of summer.
