The Vikings signed tight end Kyle Rudolph to a 4-year $36 Million contract extension. Star Tribune Sports Columnist Jim Souhan joined me on WJON today. He felt that the team and Rudolph were both motivated to get this deal done.

The Vikings reportedly have agreed to a 4-year $36 Million contract extension with tight end Kyle Rudolph. The 29-year old has 386 catches for 3,787 yards and 41 touchdowns in 8 NFL seasons. He was selected the 2nd round of the 2011 NFL draft.

Adrian Peterson isn't the only big piece of the Minnesota Vikings offense that has been missing for most of the season.

Viking tight end Kyle Rudolph could miss about a month with a fractured foot he sustained Sunday at Dallas against the Cowboys. Rudolph caught 2 passes including a 35-yard touchdown Sunday before leaving with the injury.

Viking receiver Percy Harvin missed practice Thursday after being limited in practice on Wednesday. This appears to be a setback in his return from a left ankle sprain. Harvin has missed the last 2 games with a sprained left ankle.

Viking head coach Leslie Frazier met the media Monday giving an update on injuries. Both tight end Kyle Rudolph and safety Harrison Smith suffered concussions Sunday will need to pass post concussion tests to be cleared to play Sunday at Green Bay.

The Vikings scored the first points of the game but lose 28-10 Sunday in Chicago. Minnesota trailed 25-3 at halftime and couldn't catch up in the 2nd half. Jay Cutler coming back from a concussion threw for 188 yards and 1 touchdown with 1 interception for the Bears. Michael Bush ran for 60 yards and 2 touchdowns for the Bears.

The Vikings will play their final 2 preseason games without running back Adrian Peterson according to multiple reports. Peterson is practicing with the team and was taken off the physically unable to perform list August 12. He is recovering from a torn ACL and MCL in his left knee. Peterson could still play in the Vikings regular season opener September 9 against Jacksonville.
