St. John's University has named their next head football coach. Current assistant coach, and 1981 St. John's Graduate, Gary Fasching becomes just the 16th head coach in the 102 year history of the Johnnie program.
John Gagliardi began coaching collegiate football at Carroll College in Montana. In 1953, after 4 seasons at Carroll, he became the head coach at St. John’s University in Collegeville, Minnesota, where he has remained ever since. Gagliardi, who turned 85 on November 1st, has had a very success head-coaching career covering more than six decades.
The St. John's football team may be struggling this season, but their home is still making some national lists. The website Total Pro Sports has named Clemens Stadium one of the "13 Best Places To Watch College Football".
