The Minnesota Supreme Court is on the road in Brainerd. The justices are hearing a case at the local high school Wednesday.

Brainerd police say a burglary suspect may have been sleeping on the job. Officers got a call around 11 a.m. Wednesday about a burglary. The person who reported the crime told police a man was asleep or passed out in the home.

A Minnesota man, released from death row in Ohio, is back behind bars. Kenneth Richey is accused of threatened staff at the Crow Wing County detox center. Police say an intoxicated Richey was taken to the detox center in Brainerd Saturday night. Officers were called back to the center after staff members reported the threats. The 46-year-old Richey is being held in the Crow Wing County Jail.

A 52-year-old man who once was named Brainerd's Citizen of the Year has pleaded guilty to child pornography charges. Steven "Gus" Augustinack pleaded guilty Monday to 18 counts of felony possession of pornographic computer videos involving a minor.

A central Minnesota woman almost made it to the hospital before giving birth in her car. Debbie Petersen says she was up all night with pains she didn't think were contractions. But that all changed around 4 a.m. Wednesday when her water broke at her Randall home.

Dozens of people have turned out to support a Brainerd man who allegedly was the victim of a racially motivated attack. Tuesday's rally brought out more than 40 people to the Crow Wing County Judicial Center in support of 53-year-old Willie Navy.

Two men are in custody after what appears to be a racially-motivated attack on a black man outside a central Minnesota bar. While at the bar, an employee overheard Lucas Eastwood telling Travis Campbell that he wanted to assault Willie Navy because Navy is black.

What started out as a 75th birthday celebration turned into a wild ride for two women taking a sled dog excursion on the Paul Bunyan Trail near Brainerd. The women were aboard a sled pulled by 15 dogs when their owner stopped to adjust a harness.
