ST. CLOUD - Local musician Justin Ploof performed today (Friday) on the News @ Noon Show, for the "Studio Sessions" segment.

Ploof says he grew up in Little Falls in a musical household. He says he remembers playing some of his dad's songs a very young age. Now his band includes his brother and his dad.

Ploof started out the show singing some new original music, which is available on itunes. He says the full album should be ready by early next year.

Ploof has a couple of acoustic shows this weekend. He's performing tonight (Friday) at the Water's Edge on Pleasant Lake from 6:00 until 10:00 p.m. Tomorrow (Saturday) night he is opening for Kat Perkins at the Paramount Theater.

Justin Ploof and the Throwbacks, and featuring WJON's Kelly Cordes, have a Christmas show coming up in December at the Pioneer Place on Fifth in downtown St. Cloud.

Ploof says there's a night-and-day difference between performing acoustically and with a full band. He says when he's solo on stage he can interact more with his audience. But, he says there's also a pretty big rush playing with the whole band.
