The Municipal Liquor Store in Randall is now Shady's Bar and Grill with new owners adding to Shady's other eight locations throughout central Minnesota.

The 4th of July weekend was the first time it was open after changing hands a couple of months earlier. It was packed, according to the Morrison County Record.

So far, that warm reception has continued into the Shady’s Bar and Grill’s second month under its new name and ownership, having officially switched hands on May 28. The group opened a food stand at a Fourth of July event in Randall the following weekend, offering a taste of what’s to come at the revitalized Shady’s Bar and Grill. As the kitchen becomes operational, the owners plan to gradually expand the menu and explore additional events and schedule changes to cater to the community’s needs.

The great thing is that the owners, Lee Mergen, Kris Schiffler, Ryan Spanier and Jeremy Glenz, want to preserve the feel of the community, and have maintained the staff that was already in place.  And they hope that they can continue in that way.  The reception from the town of Randall has been warm and welcoming, and that is a great thing.  Sometimes when you close one business in a town and open another in the same space that is completely different, the feeling from the town is sometimes a bit unpredictable.  This time it was definitely a positive.

The new owners want to make sure that the Legacy of the former Municipal Liquor Store is maintained through the new Shady's Bar and Grill.
