SARTELL - The sale of the old Verso Paper Mill in Sartell has been finalized.

American Iron and Metal based in Montreal now owns the large piece of property in Sartell.

I-N-H Property Management is a local commercial property realtor, and has been hired to market the site.  Managing Partner Kevin Brink says AIM hasn't decided yet what to do with the hydroelectric dam.

Brink says most of the buildings on the east side of the river will be torn down.  There's also 180 acres of land on the west side of the river that hasn't been developed.

Brink says over the next 60 to 90 days AIM will be selling off the precious metals and tools inside the buildings, then they'll begin the process of tearing down some of the buildings.

He says most of the buildings will be scraped, but a 25,000 square foot office building and a 30,000 square foot warehouse will probably remain.  He says the vast site that includes about 250 acres on both sides of the Mississippi River will most likely be sold to multiple buyers.

Brink says they are actively prospecting for all of the site.  He says it's a work in progress, but feel they'll get it sold fairly quickly.  And he says they've had a lot of interest in the site already.
