COLD SPRING -- Members of the ROCORI Trail Construction Board meet Thursday to get an update on the project's final phase.

Richmond Parks & Recreation Director Kevin Mooney says the last construction phase will be a 3.6-mile stretch of trail connecting the east end of Cold Spring to downtown Rockville.

The cost of the final phase is approximately $1,700,000 and Mooney says they are actively seeking funding through several channels from the state, federally and at the local level.

He says the preliminary design phase is done and they hope to start construction sometime this year.

When completed, the trail will connect the communities of Richmond, Cold Spring and Rockville and will tie-in to the Glacial Lakes Trail.  It will be a multi-use, paved trail for biking, walking, inline skating and snowmobiling in the winter.
