Lately, the "staycation has been a huge deal for people.  Bringing the entire family somewhere that requires a flight can be very pricey...looking at you, Disneyworld.  So, sometimes it's a bit more economical to look for places that are a bit closer to home. This includes looking across the border into Wisconsin, and specifically Wisconsin Dells.

A few months ago, Wisconsin Dells' Mt Olympus announced that they would soon have the tallest waterslide in America.  And now, for the unofficial kick off to summer brings us the opening or the "Rise of Icarus".

Wisconsin Dells has been known for all of their awesome waterparks for years. I remember being a kid and going there with other families and just having a great time with the slides, shows, mini golf and everything else that Wisconsin Dells has to offer.  I don't remember the indoor waterparks then, but now, it's a destination that you can go and enjoy those waterparks all year long.

And now, with this expansion, there is even more fun and thrills to be had with this giant waterslide.

The website says that you can expect all of these features with the expansion.

.

Since it is opening this weekend, might be a great time to book a long weekend there.  If not this weekend, that would be short notice, plan on another one later in the summer.

Wisconsin Dells is a great "staycation" destination - meaning it's fairly close to Minnesota, just a 4 hour drive.
