St. Joseph’s 45th Millstream Arts Festival Fills Downtown With Art, Music, And Local Flavor

ST. JOSEPH (WJON News) -- This Sunday is the 45th annual Millstream Arts Festival in downtown St. Joseph.

President Alicia Peters says the event features 60 visual artists.

We have about a dozen painters and two-dimensional artists; we have about 12 ceramic artists; we also have glass, folk art, about 10 jewelers, and metal artists.

For the literary arts, 16 local authors are at the Bookend Literary Arts Tent, including winners of the Minnesota Book Award.

Peters says they have a special area for hands-on children's activities.

The Avon Hills Folk School goes above and beyond every year with things for kids to do.

They also have a lot of performing arts, including a theater company, a reggae band, a string quartet, and more.

Peters encourages the anticipated 6,000 visitors to also explore St. Joseph's food and drink establishments as well while they are in the community, including the restaurants, ice cream shops, brewery, distillery, and coffee shops.

The Millstream Arts Festival runs from 11:00 a.m. until 5:00 p.m. on Minnesota Street from College Avenue to 2nd Street northwest in St. Joseph. On-street parking and parking lots are available for free parking.  The Millstream Arts Festival is always held on the last Sunday in August.
