ST. CLOUD - The man accused of shooting and killing a Rockville man has been ordered to undergo a mental competency examination.

A Stearns County Judge ordered the exam for 28-year-old Marcus Barshaw in court today (Friday) to determine  if he was competent at the time of the shooting.

He's accused in the shooting of Jeffrey Schutz six times at Schutz's home on October 21st.  A Stearns County grand jury has indicted Barshaw on charges of First and Second Degree Murder, and First and Second Degree Assault.

After the shooting, police found Barshaw hiding in a laundry room in a nearby apartment building.  He was shot three times after refusing to put down his gun.  He remains in the Stearns County Jail in lieu of $3 million bail.
