If your day could use a little happiness, Tri-County Humane Society in St. Cloud has exactly what you need right now. Kittens. Lots and lots of sweet, funny, cute, cuddly, purry kittens. But that's not exactly what this message is about.

You're invited to a “Kitten Shower!” and yes, it’s exactly as adorable as it sounds.

YOU'RE INVITED TO THE KITTEN SHOWER AT TCHS

Behind all the tiny whiskers and sleepy little faces is a very real need this time of year. Spring and summer are known as “kitten season,” when shelters suddenly become overwhelmed with litters of newborn kittens needing food, medical care, foster homes, and around-the-clock attention.

That’s why TCHS is inviting the community to stop by, meet some kittens, and help stock up on supplies the shelter desperately needs during one of its busiest seasons.

HOW YOU CAN HELP

Instead of bringing gifts for a baby shower, visitors are encouraged to bring donations for kittens and foster families. Items like:

  • Canned kitten food
  • Non-clumping litter
  • Heating pads
  • Baby blankets
  • Paper towels
  • Nursing bottles
  • Cleaning supplies.

All of these items help the shelter care for the never-ending flow of tiny kittycats that are arriving every week.

THE WISHLIST AND HOW TO DONATE ONLINE

You can make donations and see what is needed during the kitten shower by clicking on the wishlist links to Amazon or Chewy. If you decide to give online, you can click on one of the links below:

The event is designed to be fun, family-friendly, and educational while also helping people understand just how much work goes into caring for vulnerable kittens before they’re old enough for adoption.

MAKING SURE RESOURCES ARE AVAILABLE WHEN THEY ARE NEEDED

Some kittens arriving at shelters are only days old and require bottle feeding every few hours. Others need foster homes to grow strong enough before they can even be placed up for adoption. The Kitten Shower helps make sure those resources are ready before the busiest part of the season hits.

Of course, there’s also another danger involved in attending.

You may fall in love.

Hard.

Tiny paws have a way of doing that.

The Kitten Shower is happening for the next couple of days at Tri-County Humane Society in St. Cloud, and if you’ve been looking for an excuse to support a local organization while also experiencing maximum cuteness levels, this might be your sign.

Even if you can’t adopt, donations and foster support go a long way toward helping these tiny kittens get the healthy start they deserve. Thank you from the bottom of my heart.
