ST. CLOUD - Justice system officials, lawyers, and judges gathered at the Whitney Senior Center this morning to discuss improving access to the courts for Somalis.

The goal of the session was to discuss methods to eliminate bias in the courts, and hear from the Somali community.

Ann Cofell is the deputy director of Mid Minnesota Legal Aid, she says it's important to hear from the Somali community in order to find ways to improve:

The session was sponsored by the Justice Comittees of the seventh and tenth judicial district and the city of St. Cloud. Most of the St. Cloud area is located within these two districts.
