A nationwide recall revolving around muffins from Aldi's has some people still worried. The recall initiated by the FDA states: that 11,830 cases of ALDI - Bakeshop Chocolate Chip Muffin 4 count, because it may contain undeclared walnuts. People with an allergy or severe sensitivity to walnuts risk serious or life-threatening allergic reactions if they consume these products.

According to the FDA the "recalled product 'ALDI - Bakeshop Chocolate Chip Muffin 4 count' was distributed nationwide in ALDI retail stores."

The FDA's website stated that "the recalled Bakeshop Chocolate Chip Muffin 4 count are marked with lot # NF1 142Y on the top and UPC on the label 4099100048278."

Luckily there have not been any illnesses linked to these recalled muffins.

The reason behind the recall according to the FDA was because "it was discovered that the walnut-containing product was distributed in packaging that did not reveal the presence of walnut."

Production of the product has been suspended until the FDA and the company are certain that the problem has been corrected.

If you have purchased the 4 count packages of "ALDI - Bakeshop Chocolate Chip Muffin" are urged to return them to the place of purchase for a full refund. Consumers with questions may contact the company at customercare@fgfbrands.com.

The recall was initially made on June 26th, according to the FDA.
