DUELM -- We are kicking off a new series here on WJON called Home Town Spotlight and today we feature Duelm.

In a town where community means unity. You'll find the residents of the small town of Duelm all under one roof.

Jack and Jim's Food and Liquor has been the town's crown jewel since Justin and Orson Chmielewski's grandparents first opened the business in 1936.

"It use to be called the Silver Pheasant when my grandparents had it and then when my dad went into business with them they changed the name to Jack and Jim's," says Justin Chmielewski.

Now owned by the brothers, the duo has watched their grandparents business grow into the establishment it is today.

"In 1998 we bought Duelm Store and made into the restaurant part before my parents retired. Then in 2008 we added on the event center," says Orson Chmielewski.

While the building and faces have changed throughout the years, Orson says the same home cooked recipes still fill your plate.

"There is recipes that go back from our grandparents, our parents, we even came up with some new ideas," says Orson Chmielewski.

So whether you're stopping by for a quick bite, grabbing a drink or enjoying a reception in their event center, the Chmielewski's will tell you it's the local patrons which make Jack and Jim's feel like home.
