There’s an event coming up next month that can help you get more of the knowledge you might find yourself needing at some point. “Stop the Bleed” will be held on April 13th at Rice City Hall.

Stop the Bleed” is a free seminar on how someone with no medical training can identify and stop life threatening external bleeding. Some of the aspects that will be taught during this hour and a half class are applying direct pressure to wounds, wound dressing and the application of commercially available tourniquets.

There will also be a focus on how to use what you have available to make a tourniquet as well.  

Stop the Bleed” is a program that was created by the American College of Surgeons in partnership with the Department of Defense, the National Association of Medical Technicians, and The American Medical Association and the Committee on Trauma.
