ST. PAUL  (AP) - Hundreds of gay marriage supporters are swarming the Capitol in hopes of winning over lawmakers whose votes if the bill comes up for a vote at the Capitol.

Several groups pushing for legal gay marriage are holding a lobby day Thursday. It included a rally that drew a crowd of at least several hundred people despite cold, sleety weather.

Gov. Mark Dayton told the crowd he will sign a bill to legalize gay marriage if it gets to his desk. He says people have "a constitutional right and an American right to marry who you love."

Bills to legalize gay marriage passed House and Senate committees last month. They could get full House and Senate votes in the next few weeks, but it's not yet clear if backers have enough support to pass it.
