Extension Educator: Rake Lawns, But Hold Off on Crab Grass Preventer
ST. CLOUD -- A U-of-M Extension Educator says it's ok to start raking your lawn as long as the ground is dry enough in your yard. But, Janelle Daberkow says it's too early to put down the crab grass preventer.
Daberkow says it's too late to prune your oak trees. She says normally you can prune your oak trees in March, but the insects that spread oak wilt disease will emerge earlier this year.
Daberkow says if your perennials are starting to emerge, it's also a good idea to keep some mulch on hand just in case the temps drop below freezing again.
