ST. CLOUD -- An unusual sport will occupy the parking lot of Scheels this weekend as the Super Retriever Series, a dog jumping competition, takes place.

The competition starts at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday and will go until 4:00 p.m. Throughout that time dogs in four categories will compete in the Amateur, Pro, Junior, and Mini divisions.

Any breed of dog is welcomed to compete in tomorrows jump competition and if you have never done something like this before, staff on hand are willing to help you.

"We're glad to work with you if you have a dog," says Jim Wood. "We will take the time and work with you and if the dog likes the water at all we can get them in the water and get them jumping."

Eric Carstensen and his dog are first time competitors, he hopes that his dog can break a new personal record and competing is something he has always wanted to do.

"I've just kind of been hooked, I've always been around activities like this," says Carstensen.

The Top four in each category advance to the Finals that will start at 11:30 a.m. on Sunday.

After Sunday's Finals the top three dogs in each category will then qualify for the Super Retriever Series Crown Championship in Huntsville, Alabama November 1-3, 2013.
