Dayton Signs Skills Test Requirement for Teachers [AUDIO]
ST. CLOUD - A new state law requires new teachers to pass a skills test, before they get their teaching license. Governor Mark Dayton signed the bill yesterday (Wednesday).
St. Cloud Education Association President Mary Broderick says this will affect just a handful of young teachers.
Current law allows licensed teachers to take and retake the test for up to three years. All out-of-state applicants for teacher licenses will also have to pass the test in order to teach in Minnesota.
