The month of October has been a warm one. Eight of the nine days so far this month have had a high of 78-degrees, or higher. Five of those days have been in the 80s.
The National Weather Service has issued a Red Flag Warning for our entire listening area. It will be in effect from Noon today (Wednesday) until 7:00 p.m. tomorrow (Thursday).
After eight months where the rain seemed to never stop, St. Cloud has suddenly dried-out in the past six weeks. September of 2011 ties September of 1922 for the fourth driest on record in St. Cloud.
The National Weather Service has issued a Wind Advisory from 10:00 a.m. until 7:00 p.m. Northwest winds will increase to 15 to 25 miles an hour, with gusts up to 40 miles an hour.
Colder and snowier than normal -- that's what the Old Farmers Almanac is predicting for us for this winter. Mary Ann Jarvala spoke with Dick Nelson on WJON this (Tuesday) afternoon. She says Minnesota will be especially cold in February, and especially snowy early in the winter.
We had a record cold temperature in St. Cloud this (Thursday) morning. The National Weather Service says official low at the St. Cloud Regional Airport was 29.
Early season freezing condition are expected for much of the state tonight (Wednesday). A Freeze Warning will be in effect for all of Central and much of Southern Minnesota from midnight until 8:00 a.m. tomorrow.
