Have you eaten at a Cracker Barrel restaurant?  They are known for their rustic feel, down-home country feel, general store, and "home cooking".  People love going there for their breakfast foods, but they do also have other meals for lunch and dinner.

Recently, their stock has been slipping a bit, so the new CEO, Julie Felss Masino, who took over about 10 months ago, is considering a revamp of the restaurant to make it "more relevant".

Part of the charm of Cracker Barrel is the country feel. Maybe instead of placing them in large cities, urban areas, it might be a good idea to move it into let's say... the COUNTRY!  That's just my idea, and of course I am not in charge of that decision.  But it does seem to make sense, right?  Instead, they are considering a remodel that will bring more of a modern feel to the restaurants.

From FOX 9 NEWS:

"We're just not as relevant as we once were, Some of our recipes and processes haven’t evolved in decades, "The brand has lost some of its shine

So what is the new CEO planning to do to "modernize" the country restaurant?  She says that she does want to make the restaurant more relevant, while still keeping the country feel of the original Cracker Barrel.  Well, that is good news.  Also testing some new menu items.

...starting with a rebrand and with test runs of new menu items, including green chili cornbread, banana pudding and hash brown casserole shepherd's pie, across multiple locations.

Apparently the restaurant's largest demographic are people over 65. Since the pandemic, those people are the ones who are most hesitant to go out to eat.  So the idea is to change things and make them more appealing to younger people so they might be more inclined to head to a Cracker Barrel restaurant.

The only Cracker Barrel restaurant in Minnesota is located in Lakeville.  Might be a good idea to spread out more in the midwest.  Just a thought.
