Even though it is definitely winter right now in Minnesota, it's always nice to look forward to what we can do and enjoy during the Summer months here in (what can be) the frozen tundra.

We, as Midwesterners, seem to always want to pack in as much as we can into the 3-4 months of warm weather that we get here in this area.  I wish it was longer, but that generally what we experience - 3-4 months of Summer-like weather.

So, let's talk about one of the music festivals going on this coming summer, actually spring to be technical.  This music festival is Surly Brewery's annual concert series at Festival Field.

Cake, an alternative band that saw success mostly in the 90s, will be playing this festival in May of this year.

From Bring Me the News:

The "Never There" band will headline one night of Surly's annual concert series at Festival Field on May 29.

The show is being billed as "an evening with"-style concert, so Cake will take the stage without openers and will likely play a longer set, as these types of shows tend to go.

The presale for this festival went on sale yesterday.  The tickets officially go on sale today (Friday) at 10am.

Even though Cake began in the 90s, they have had enough popularity to continue to play dates throughout the last 3 decades.

So, if you are interested in seeing this band, or some of the others on the bill, get all the information on the website with a schedule, tickets and other information.

Let's start planning our summer fun!
