High School Football Section Quarterfinals Tonight

The High School Football section quarterfinals will be played tonight throughout the area. AM 1390-the Fan will broadcast the section 85A quarterfinal game between Sauk Rapids-Rice and St. Cloud Apollo. The Eagles have won 3 straight games and are 3-5 while Sauk Rapids-Rice is 1-7. Apollo beat Sauk Rapids-Rice earlier this season 9-6 to at the time snap their 22-game school losing streak. The Eagles have since beat Tech and Fergus Falls.

High School Football Pairings; Doubleader at SCSU Tuesday Night

The high school football pairing in section 85A and section 53A have been released. In section 85A Moorhead is the #1 seed, Sartell-St. Stephen is the #2 seed, Apollo is seeded #3, Tech is #4, Alexandria is #5 and Sauk Rapids-Rice is seeded #6. The top two seeds get a first round bye with #6 Sauk Rapids-Rice playing at #3 Apollo at 7pm Tuesday night. #5 Alexandria will play at #4 Tech at 8:15pm at SCSU Tuesday night.

Prep Football Results; Rocori Tops Tech 26-13; Peterson Breaks His Fibula

Rocori 26, Tech 13
(Rocori outscored Tech 20-0 in the 2nd half after trailing 13-6 at halftime. Alex Austad ran for 87 yards on 15 carries and 2 touchdowns for Rocori. Brad Fabel threw a 29-yards touchdown pass to Derek Kuechle in the first half. Jacob Peterson was held to 50 yards rushing on 17 carries with a 22-yard touchdown run. Peterson injured his right leg on the last play of the first half and did not return to the game.

High School Football Preview Week 8; Rocori at Tech [AUDIO]

The High School Football regular season comes to a close tonight throughout the area. The matchups include Rocori (4-3) at Tech (3-4) at Husky Stadium at SCSU at 7pm, pregame on AM 1390-the Fan at 6:45. Both teams have lost 3 games in a row. Rocori is playing without starting quarterback Mac Mueller who is out with a separated shoulder. Junior Brad Fabel has been starting in place of Mueller.

Prep Football Results; Apollo Beats Tech 26-20

(Kyle Rosenthal ran for 122 yards including a 20-yard touchdown run that turned out to be the game-winner. Apollo outscored Tech 13-0 in the 4th quarter. Jake Peterson ran for 187 yards and 3 touchdowns for Tech. Tech has lost 3 games in a row and is now 3-4. Ben Alvord threw for 203 yards and 2 touchdowns including a 80-yard touchdown pass. Apollo has won 2 games in a row and is 2-5. Tech hosts Rocori next Wednesday and Apollo plays at Fergus Falls next Wednesday).

High School Football Preview; Tech at Apollo [AUDIO][Predictions)

Tonight is Week 7 of the High School Football Regular season and the featured matchup in the St. Cloud area is Tech at Apollo at 7pm. The Tigers are 3-3 after are coming off back to back loses where they've lead in the 4th quarter. Apollo is coming off a 9-6 win at Sauk Rapids-Rice. The win snapped a 22-game losing streak for the school.

Prep Football Results; Sartell Edges Tech 21-20

Sartell-St. Stephen 21, Tech 20
(Parker Hagen threw a 3-yard touchdown pass to Jake Wensel with :07 left to tie the game and the extra point was the game-winner. Jake Peterson ran 39 times for 267 yards and 3 touchdowns for Tech. Peterson passes Scott Schmitz to become the all-time leading rusher in Tech Football history. Eric McAfee ran for 91 yards and 1 touchdown for Sartell. Parker Hagen threw for 182 yards and 1 touchdown with a rushing score. Tech is 3-3 and will play at Apollo next Friday. Sartell is 5-1 and will host Willmar next Friday night).

High School Football Preview; Sartell at Tech [Predictions]

Week 6 of the High School Football season is tonight. The games on the schedule include Sartell-St. Stephen (4-1) at Tech (3-2) at St. Cloud State's Husky Stadium. The winner of this game will likely be the #2 seed in Section 85A behind top seeded Moorhead. Tech lost 48-40 at home against Moorhead last Friday. Sartell was ranked #10 in the State in Class 5A last week before losing to Fergus Falls.
