March is Multiple Sclerosis awareness month. To explain what multiple sclerosis is I was joined on WJON by Dr. Kathleen Rieke, the Director of Neurology at CentraCare, St. Cloud. Dr. Rieke says MS is where your body, for reasons we really don't understand, decides to attack the nerves of your brain and spinal cord.

A local group of bike riders is working to raise money in the fight against Multiple Sclerosis.

A fundraising campaign has raised nearly $28,000 to get a new wheelchair-accessible van for a St. Cloud Tech High School gymnastics coach who has Multiple Sclerosis.

Some walked for support, others for family, but no matter the reason they all walked towards one goal at the St. Cloud MS Walk this (Sunday) morning. Multiple Sclerosis is a disease of the central nervous system. Walk MS is a fundraiser that connects people living with Multiple Sclerosis and helps raise money to find a cure.

Over 500 people came out on Sunday morning to walk and support victims of multiple sclerosis in Central Minnesota.

Multiple Sclerosis is a disease that is hard to overcome for anyone, but with partnership of Fitness Evolution and Fit-Pro, trainers are trying to help those with MS live a healthier lifestyle with the MS Fitness Challenge.

The National MS Society is hosting their 25th Annual Walk MS Sunday at Apollo High School. Participants can choose to walk two, seven or nine miles. The National MS Society hopes to raise about $80,000 at the St. Cloud location.
