College of St. Benedict

The College of St. Benedict and St. John's University are moving up the national rankings as top liberal arts colleges.

The College of St. Benedict and St. John's University are off to great start this school year, with high enrollment numbers.

A St. Joseph woman is watching the Olympics on TV, just like the rest of us, after attending the last six Olympic games. Glen Werner has been the Athletic Director at the College of St. Benedict for the past year now, but prior to that she spent 16 years as the Director of the Olympic Training Center in Colorado Springs.

The leaves will be changing, the cold air will be moving in and students will be coming back.

Local college students watching the Olympic games might get hooked on the sport of rowing. If you walk down to the beautiful shores of Lake Sagatagan on the campus of St. John’s University during the early morning hours this fall, chances are you’ll see the St. John’s and St. Ben’s rowing team practicing their sport.

A former student and her husband have given a large donation to the College of St. Benedict. Mary and Jim Frey of Edina have committed $1.5 million aimed at creating scholarships at St. Ben's for students from under-represented communities.

The public is invited to groundbreaking ceremonies this week on the campuses of St. John's University and the College of St. Benedict.

A business owned by the College of Saint Benedict in downtown St. Joseph will be closing its doors at the end of May. On A Lark is a women's boutique store (also offering unique items) in the Mill Stream Shops and Lofts development.

Governor Mark Dayton visited the campus of The College of St. Benedict tonight (Thursday) for a question-and-answer session with the public.

The College of Saint Benedict basketball team faced St. Olaf yesterday (Saturday) afternoon.
