ST. JOSEPH -- Governor Mark Dayton visited the campus of The College of St. Benedict tonight (Thursday) for a question-and-answer session with the public.

Over 100 people attended the "Ask the Governor" event held at the Gorecki Center to hear Dayton address various issues on both the state and national levels.

The event was moderated by former radio host and St. John's alum Gary Eichten, who relayed questions submitted by the audience to the governor.

Notable topics discussed by Dayton included the Super Tuesday results, transportation, the achievement gap, prison reform, student loan debt, and gun control.

"You have to have real money that's sufficient to the task. We've had experts tell us $6 billion over the next 10 years -- and if we don't do that, things will get worse. That's the guarantee. If we don't do anything or we don't do enough, then all the highways will be more congested."

The night was the second time Dayton has visited St. Ben's, after visiting for a similar event in February of 2013.
