Edina Couple Donates $1.5 Million To College of St. Benedict

ST. JOSEPH - A former student and her husband have given a large donation to the College of St. Benedict.

Mary and Jim Frey of Edina have committed $1.5 million aimed at creating scholarships at St. Ben's for students from under-represented communities.

The gift is structured in the form of a challenge match. Other donors to this fund will have their gifts matched dollar-for-dollar by the Frey's up to $1.5 million.

Mary White Frey is a 1980 graduate of St. Ben's. Jim Frey is a 1978 graduate of St. John's University.
