ST. CLOUD - Lunch prices will be slightly more expensive in St. Cloud area schools starting in the 2015-2016 school year.

Lunches will cost 5-cents more. Elementary lunches will cost $2.55, secondary school lunches will go up to $2.75 and adult lunches will be $3.90.

District 742 executive director of business services, Kevin Januszewski, says state and federal law requires schools to charge a minimum weighted average price for paid lunches.

"The federal government does a calculation on where we should be with our lunch prices and we need to make adjustments to it."

Last year, the St. Cloud area school district increased lunch prices by 10-cents to adjust to state and federal guidelines.
