ST. JOSEPH - The sale of the current St. Joseph city hall building fell apart last week.

The city previously had a purchase agreement in place with Collegeville Credit UnionThey planned to move into the building after city staff moved into their new government center next year, which is being built next to Colts Academy.

However, City Administrator Judy Weyrens says the sale fell through.

"Last week they informed us that they would not be moving in and they were withdrawing from the agreement, which means the city now has a building to sell."

Weyrens says Collegeville Credit Union gave no specific reason to the city for backing out of the deal.

St. Joseph now has a developer that's looking to help market and sell the building. The city council approved 60 days for the city to work exclusively with that developer on Monday night.
