Richmond A&W Opening Monday

RICHMOND - A new A&W restaurant is opening in Richmond on Monday.

The A&W is at 780 1st Street Southeast. Construction on the building started in June.

Julie Glenz, the co-owner of the A&W in Albany, previously said that her family used to live in Richmond and was looking forward to the new location.

"We like the community and they contacted us to see if we would be interested in the possibility of opening on there, things kind of just fell into place."

Glenz says they will employ around 20 people to staff the restaurant. The building will seat around 60 people.

A&W is based in California and is known for root beer floats, hot dogs, burgers and more.
