Prepare for Traffic Slowdowns Near Ice Fishing Extravaganza

BRAINERD -- The Brainerd Jaycee's Ice Fishing Extravaganza will cause some traffic headaches on Highway 371 north of Brainerd tomorrow (Saturday).

Traffic will be reduced to a single lane in each direction and flaggers will be controlling traffic between Brainerd and Nisswa. The traffic impact is expected between 7:00 a.m. and 6:00 p.m.

The lane closures are necessary to accommodate additional traffic and shuttle buses heading to Gull Lake. Participants and spectators are urged to use one of two shuttle bus locations, at Brainerd International Raceway or Highway 371 and Crow Wing County Road 77 in Nisswa.

The State Patrol is assisting with extra patrols and DWI enforcement.
