Local Unemployment Rate Drops in August
ST. CLOUD – The unemployment rate in the St. Cloud metro area dropped in August. The Minnesota Department of Employment and Economic Development says it’s now at 5.5%, down from the 5.9% that we had in July.
The unemployment rate is a half-point lower than what it was in August of last year.
St. Cloud’s unemployment rate is lower than the statewide average of 5.9% and the national average of 8.1%.
Minnesota Metro Unemployment Rates:
Rochester – 4.7%
Mankato – 5%
St. Cloud – 5.5%
Twin Cities – 5.7%
Duluth – 6.7%
