UNDATED - The unemployment rate in the St. Cloud metro area is the lowest its been in 13 years.

The Minnesota Department of Employment and Economic Development says our unemployment rate in October was 3.1 percent. The last time the local unemployment rate was that low was October of 2001.

The labor force in the St. Cloud metro area in October was just over 110,000, just under the record levels we saw in March.

St. Cloud is doing slightly better than the statewide unemployment rate of 3.2 percent, and better than the national rate of 5.5 percent.

Mankato area - 2.5 percent
Rochester area - 2.7 percent
Twin Cities area - 3.2 percent
Duluth area - 4 percent
