Operation Baby New Year

Dozens of people came out Wednesday night with diapers in hand for a good cause. The Beaver Island Brewing Company held their "Pints For Pampers" event to help collect donations for the second annual "Operation Baby New Year".

Anywhere between $5.00 and $25.00 is the average price range for a 24 count box of diapers. For many families the price of buying diapers comes down to either putting food on the table or buying diapers, this is where Operation Baby New Year comes in to play.

Two St. Cloud area companies and two area non-profit organizations will receive the Innovation Award.

The Christmas season may be over but the spirit of giving lives on through the dog days of summer. Operation Baby New Year is kicking off their 'Diaper Days of Summer' campaign in an effort to raise 75,000 diapers for local organization.

Operation Baby New Year reached it's goal. Organizer Justin Michael says they collected over 104,000 diapers for several local charities.

Operation Baby New Year is a grassroots organization trying to collect 100,000 diapers by New Year's day. Local business Beaver Island Brewing Company is helping out the cause by hosting a Diapers For Pints event tonight (Wednesday). Anyone (21-years or older) can drop off a box of diapers and get a free pint of beer.

A grassroots effort to collect 100,000 diapers in the St. Cloud metro area continues. Justin Michael is spearheading "Operation Baby New Year". He says they've collected about 45,000 diapers so far.

Diapers are a big need for families in need and a local campaign is aiming to collect 100,000 of them before the end of the year.
