The Minnesota State High School League is the governing body for Minnesota high school sports but what does it actually do and why do they arrive at the decisions they do in regards to classification, rules and profit?

The high school hockey season would be two weeks longer with the potential of two additional games if the Minnesota Hockey Coaches Association has its way. Concerns over players leaving high school programs to play junior level hockey and the need for more development time has prompted the move.

The Cathedral boys hockey team won't play Thief River Falls Saturday as scheduled because Thief River Falls has suspended their entire hockey program for the week after an external investigation uncovered misconduct by some of its players.

This week's All-Star Student runs student council meetings, helps exchange students, participates in sports, and supports his fellow students all while making his way through high school.
