Northwestern Minnesota has a fair amount of elk. The elk hunt in Minnesota took place from September 21-29. Glen Schmitt from Outdoor News says only 10 permits were available to hunters and he says 8 elk were shot. Schmitt explains all 8 were male, bull elk.

The Minnesota DNR in collaboration with the Fond du Lac Band of Lake Superior Chippewa plan to move elk from the northwestern part of the state to the northeastern part of the state near Cloquet and north.

Tim Meyer was flipping through his game cameras from his southwest Minnesota property. He got halfway through before seeing a picture that shocked him. It was a five-by-five bull elk.

Some of you may raise horses, cows or many other wildlife but what about raising elk? The Minnesota Elk Breeders Association will be holding their Annual Conference at the River's Edge Convention Center tomorrow (Saturday).
