Paynesville City Hall Closed on Monday to Honor Joe Schmitz

PAYNESVILLE - Paynesville City Hall will be closed on Monday, March 31st to honor Officer Joe Schmitz, who passed away on Thursday after complications from surgery.

Schmitz was a Paynesville Police Officer for 19 years before moving to the Sartell Police Department in 2012.

Schmitz also worked part-time with the Cold Spring-Richmond Police Department.

There is an account set up for Schmitz at the Central Minnesota Credit Union branches at “Joe Schmitz 7907″. Schmitz is survived by his wife Stacy, and their four-year-old son.
