United Way of Central Minnesota Partner for Student Success’ Black Youth Network hosts Kumbayah's The Juneteenth Story at the Paramount Center for the Arts, downtown St. Cloud, Minn., on Saturday, June 24, at 6 p.m.

This production dramatizes the story of Juneteenth through compelling music and storytelling and features local Minnesota talent cast in several roles.

Kumbayah serves as a platform for constructive community dialogue and a way to build connections with both the present and past. A meaningful, facilitated audience discussion takes place after the performance.

This is a family-appropriate experience for those who are 10 years old and up.

Kumbayah comes to St. Cloud in partnership with the Minnesota Humanities Center, Sweet Potato Comfort Pie, GREAT Theatre, Paramount Center for the Arts, and the Central Minnesota Community Foundation. This production is part of the area's Juneteenth celebration and the City of St. Cloud’s Granite City Days.

This theatrical production, written by Rose McGee, is made possible through the Clean Water Land and Legacy Amendment Trust and many community partnerships, including Athlos Academy, Boys and Girls Club of Central Minnesota, CareerSolutions, Create CommUNITY, Higher Works Collaborative, Jugaard Leadership Program, Promise Neighborhood of Central Minnesota, St. Cloud Financial Credit Union, St. Cloud Area School District, Sauk Rapids-Rice Public Schools Diggin’ Diversity, the College of Saint Benedict and Saint John’s University and United Way of Central Minnesota Partner for Student Success’ Black Youth Network.
