Additional Information

Central MN Take Back the Night is a community event to raise awareness of the sexual and domestic violence our community faces daily.

Every 68 seconds, an American is sexually assaulted. (RAINN, 2021)

On average, nearly 20 people per minute are physically abused by an intimate partner in the United States. (NCADV, 2021)

The Central MN Take Back the Night (CMTBTN) Planning Committee invites the Central MN community to attend an empowering event to honor survivors of sexual and domestic violence. We will be joining in solidarity for our survivors and allies to rally and march throughout the College of St. Benedict Campus area. The event will feature several displays, community partners, speakers, and will end with a march.

Central MN Take Back the Night will be on Thursday, October 13 beginning at 5:30 pm at the College of St. Benedict Mall. Signs will be up to direct attendees where to park. Central MN Take Back the Night t-shirts will be available for purchase at the event for $20.00. There will also be glow sticks, necklaces, etc. for purchase to unite in survivor solidarity and light up the night.

The Central MN Take Back the Night Planning committee is sponsored by Central MN Sexual Assault Center, Anna Marie’s Alliance, SCSU Women’s Center, College of Saint Benedict, St. John’s University, Central MN Child Advocacy Center, Planned Parenthood, Zonta, CERTS, Institute for Women’s Leadership, CSB & SJU Multicultural Student Services; CSB Campus Security; and several CSB & SJU Student Groups, as well as additional support from Planned Parenthood, Bradshaw and Bryant, and Spice of Life Tea Shop.
