Additional Information

The Kimball Area Chamber of Commerce will host its 16th annual Community Expo this Saturday, April 6, at the Kimball Area High School. Doors open at 8:30 a.m., and breakfast is available until 10:30 a.m. The Expo runs until 12:30 p.m.

Nearly 60 exhibitors are expected for this year’s Expo: local businesses and organizations eager to meet you. There will be demonstrations, lots of brochures and business cards to pick up, and many of the exhibitors will have drawings for their services or for cool prizes. The National Guard obstacle course returns this year, as does Tactical Laser Tag from Annandale Paintball. There is certainly something for all ages at the Kimball Expo April 6.

Doing business locally is critical for maintaining thriving communities. You may just be amazed at the depth and breadth of all that is available in Kimball and the surrounding communities. We may not have everything you need right here at home, but we’ve got an awful lot. Exhibitors represent these fields: banking, health care, real estate, car sales and repair, real estate, insurance, bathroom remodels, jewelry, telephone/Internet, garage doors, funerary services, farm and garden tractors and equipment, music studio, assisted living, weight loss, landscaping, pet cremation, beauty and self-care, home repair and renovations, your local newspaper, the City of Kimball (and fire department), and the Kimball Schools.

Local entertainment is scheduled throughout the Expo. Richard Eckman & Friends will perform folk-gospel music. JD and Megan from Maine Prairie Studios may do demonstrations throughout the morning, and will talk about their award-winning ceramic studio and classes. Diva’s Inc. will do a wedding hair and makeup makeover. Bob Kunkel will discuss his recently published Vietnam memoir entitled “Walking Point.” Meeker Memorial Hospital will give some helpful tips for how to “Be your best as a new mom." And Nora Job will present information for potential home sellers. In addition, blood pressure checks will be done throughout the Expo at the Meeker Memorial Hospital booth.

Admission and parking are both free. Be sure to come out on what’s sure to be a lovely spring day and chat with your favorite business people, and meet a few new ones as well. Your friends and neighbors will be there, too.
