My granddaughter is visiting from North Carolina for the first time since my wife and I moved to Minnesota last September. Lexi has special needs, and a lot of the things that most kids can do, Lexi can’t. So, we’ve been trying to find things to do that fit Lexi.

One of the things Lexi enjoys the most is animals. Being able to pet them, and feed them, and honestly nearly all animals are drawn to her, it’s something in her spirit.

Last week we discovered “A maze’n Farmyard” in Eden Valley. At first this place looks like it might just be for younger kids, or kids like Lexi who have challenges, but after we got there, we learned that “A maze’n Farmyard” is so much fun.

You can pet the variety of animals in the barn, and there are options of types of food that you can buy to use on the property. We chose a combo pack of food for the animals in the barn and outside the barn, as well as food for the birds and the fish and ducks.

We strolled through the barn feeding and petting the animals, goats, bunnies, alpaca, puppies, kittens, guinea pigs and other farm animals.

There are also goats outside with a goat bridge.

You can see the Pigeons, Tortoises, Chickens, Peacocks, and Camels, in their own designated areas.

There’s a beautiful pond for the Koi Fish and Ducks, where you can stand on the partially covered bridge while you feed the fish and ducks and watch them compete for the treat you’re offering.

The Bird House is a popular location, you can feed the budgies in this life size bird house. The budgies will land on you and eat off the popsicle sticks that are covered in bird seed that you can buy in the main building. The birds can get a little excited and sometimes mistake your fingers for the food, but we had a lot of laughs while we were there.

One of the featured attractions is the Maze. Or I should say mazes. There are four different mazes with different skill levels and concepts. There are mazes that cater to the small children, and a couple that are fun for families to tackle together. The description of each maze and who it best for is at the entrance.

There are two slides here, a shorter one where “sliders” sit on a burlap sack for the ride, and a bigger slide where you sit on a tube to go down the hill.

Another attraction is not one but two mini-golf courses, the Wild West Blacklight Mini-Golf is in the upstairs section of the barn.

We spent about two hours there and did only the things that Lexi wanted to do, you could spend a short time or a longer time there, really whatever you want.

And of course there’s a place for food, drinks, snacks and other shopping while you’re there.

This would be a cool place for your family, or an afternoon date if you’re looking for something different.

The admission price at A mazen' Farmyard  is $14.99 for those 3 and up.
